Bryan Ivatts scored three first half touchdowns and helped the Eagles defeat Moses Brown 35-6 in the Division II opener on Friday night, Sept. 17.

The Eagles senior running back scored on a short run in the first quarter, and carried the ball inside the Moses Brown 10 yard line at the start of the second quarter. That drive stalled, and a field goal attempt sailed wide-left, but a few plays later the Eagles’ Braeden Flaherty blocked a punt and gave the Barrington offense the ball at the Quakers’ three yard line. One play later Ivatts plowed into the end zone. Will Hopkins kicked the extra point and Barrington led 14-0.

The Eagles’ defense forced a punt on the next series, and Barrington took over near midfield. Ivatts then broke off a 43-yard run and followed it up with a four-yard touchdown run a few plays later.

Barrington’s defense continue to limit the Quakers’ running and passing attacks, even stopping a drive that started deep in Barrington’s end of the field. Adam Gravelle made a key fourth down stop and also came up with a big play in the second half.
