The Barrington High School outdoor track brought the Eastern Division Championship back to Barrington for the first time since 2017.

The Eagles scored 159 points, finishing ahead of second place Portsmouth (125 points), third place Rogers (77 points), fourth place St. Raphaels (69 points) and the rest of the Eastern Division competition.

“It has been a difficult season and year, and I could not be more proud of the team for coming together to make this happen today,” Coach Bill Barrass wrote in a message following the meet.

Will Sanchez was the Eagles’ top point-scorer. The senior won the triple jump with a distance of 42 feet, 5.75 inches. He was also second in the long jump and finished third in the pole vault. In addition, Sanchez ran the anchor leg of the Eagles 4x400-meter relay team, which finished fourth. 

Asher Robbins won the hammer throw with a distance of 197 feet, 4 inches, and Nico Arce won the 200-meter race with a time of 23.45 seconds. Jackson Duffy ran to a first place finish in the 110-meter hurdles and Holden Vaughan was tops in the 3,000-meter race. 

Barrington boasted a number of second place finishers: Ethan Knight in the 300 hurdles; Liam Capozza in the hammer; Sean Fearon in the discus; and the 4x800-meter relay team of Andrew Rego, Caleb Schultz, Adam Copple, and Brandon Piedade. 

Third place finishers were Remy Lelias in the javelin, Vaughan in the 1,500, Michael Fay in the hammer, and the 4x100-meter relay team of Duffy, Thomas McAdams, Knight and Jackson O’Connor.
