Former Barrington High School football teammates meet on college gridiron
Two BHS quarterbacks wearing different uniforms these days
Former Barrington High School quarterbacks James Anderson and Alex McClelland met on the field following the URI vs. Bryant University football game on Saturday, Nov. 23.
Anderson is a sophomore QB for the Bulldogs, and McClelland is a freshman QB for the Rams.
The University of Rhode Island defeated Bryant University 35-21 in the regular season finale. URI, which improved to 10-2, will be the No. 10 seed and host Central Connecticut State in the opening round of the 2024 FCS Championship at Meade Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 30.
The Rams won a share of the CAA Football title this season and is one of 14 schools to receive an at-large bid to the tournament, marking the program's first postseason appearance since 1985. Bryant dropped to 2-10 for the 2024 season.
