Letter: AG is fighting for our rights to the coastline
To the editor:
Congratulations to Attorney General Peter Neronha for fighting for the people's rights to our coastline! He called foul on the Court's decision approving the so-called "settlement" allowing the Champlin's Marina expansion. Neronha has exposed this sham "settlement" for what it is, an unfair backroom deal where the people of the State of RI were not at the table. This coastline belongs to us. The State holds public trust property in trust for the people of this State. Trust means trustworthy. The CRMC has no power to trot off to hotel rooms to make deals to give our property away in secret. I don't care what they call their behind-closed-doors deal, I don't care that they call it a "settlement of litigation," it's wrong. It's up to our Supreme Court now to strike it down and AG Peter Neronha is the man to lead us in our fight for justice.
