Missing kayaker located, but kayak rental company upset

Warren woman located in Hundred Acre Cove

Posted

Barrington first responders received a report of a missing kayaker at about 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 28.

Police and fire officials responded to Walker Farm and eventually were able to track down the missing 36-year-old Warren woman — she was located closer to the Osamequin Bird Sanctuary farther north in Hundred Acre Cove.

Police said the woman had rented a kayak from the Walker Farm Rental company. An official with the rental company wanted to file a complaint with police — he said the woman had damaged the kayak and lost one of the life of the jackets.
