PORTSMOUTH — A 47-year-old local man was arrested last week on an affidavit warrant charging him with assault.

Shortly before 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 21, officers responded to the home of Kyle Eugene Emond, of 36 Cedar Ave., 1W, to serve a Portsmouth warrant stemming from a previous incident, police said.

Emond was taken into custody, brought to police headquarters, and charged with felony assault with a dangerous weapon or substance, according to police.

He was held at the police station pending his arraignment.

Here are some more recent highlights from the Portsmouth Police report:

Tuesday, Nov. 21

Sheree Ann Cathcart, 43, of 75 Franklin St., Bristol, was arrested on a 2nd District Court bench warrant after she turned herself in at the police station around 11:15 a.m., police said. She was transported to District Court for her arraignment.

Saturday, Nov. 25

Cole Hays Zabriskie, 20, of 29 Annawamscutt Road, Barrington, was charged with driving under the influence, first offense, after he was pulled over for speeding on Route 24 North at Boyds Lane around 2 a.m., police said. According to police, Zabriskie was driving 75 mph in a posted 45 mph zone. During an inventory search of the vehicle, officers discovered a fake Maine driver’s license belonging to Zabriskie, so he was also charged with possession of a false identification, police said. He was also cited for refusal to submit to a chemical test, police said.
