Robert “Bob” Chartier, 81, of Barrington, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the husband of the late Claire A. (Richard) Chartier.
Born in Newport, he was a son of the late Arthur J. and Mildred (Sutcliffe) Chartier. Bob was a truck driver for the Teamsters, Local 251 for many years before he retired. He was a proud and loyal member of the Teamsters. He enjoyed fishing, boating ,was an avid sports fan and enjoyed listening to Willie Nelson.
He leaves two sons, Robert “Bob” Chartier, Jr. and his partner Judy Rezendes and Michael J. Chartier and his wife Lori, three grandchildren, Stephanie Joly, Brittany Costa and Daniel Kieffer, two great-grandchildren, Sierra Joly and Madison Field, one sister, Mildred Raymond and one brother, John “Jack” Chartier.
His funeral will be on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 9 a.m. from the Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Ave., East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Luke’s Church, Washington Road, Barrington. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Thursday from 4 to 7.
