Witness: Suspect replaces tree with American flag

Posted

Someone just made Santa’s naughty list.

A Mathewson Road resident called police at about 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 18 to report vandalism to their outdoor Christmas tree. The resident told police the family had set up a tree on their dock in the harbor and later spotted a man walk out onto the dock and knock the tree over.

Police said that the resident reported the man then stuck an American flag in the tree’s place. The resident was unable to get the license plate information from the suspect’s car.

Police are still investigating.
