A vehicle stolen from a Barrington resident’s home late last month has been recovered.

Barrington Police Chief Michael Correia said his department received a phone call from the New Hampshire State Police on Saturday, Sept. 4, notifying them that the 2019 Ford Edge stolen from a Barrington resident’s home had been recovered. Chief Correia said the vehicle’s plates had been switched — the Rhode Island plates replaced with New York plates. 

The New Hampshire State Police said the vehicle had been involved in a pursuit in that state and had been abandoned following the chase. No suspects were apprehended. The chase had occurred Friday night into Saturday morning.

The vehicle was first reported stolen on Aug. 30. A Kyle Street resident told police the vehicle had been stolen from her driveway during the overnight hours; it had been left unlocked.

Barrington Police entered the stolen vehicle information into the state database system and shortly thereafter received a call from Warren Police alerting them to three suspicious individuals who had been spotted walking toward Barrington at about 3 a.m. Warren police had stopped to question the individuals and gotten their names.

Police said the video surveillance from the home where the vehicle was stolen shows three individuals involved in the crime.
