Bristol PD: Three arrests made over past week

Monday, March 20
Vandalism was reported in the skate park at the Bristol Recreation sports complex on Asylum Road at 9:04 a.m.

A phone scam was reported on Kickemuit Avenue at 11:59 a.m.

Tuesday, March 21
Kyle Francis, 39, of Bristol, was arrested on a warrant at 6:59 a.m. He was charged with disorderly conduct.

An altercation between residents was reported at 10:02 p.m. on Creek Lane.

Wednesday, March 22
The hazmat unit of the fire department checked on a report of a strong smell of propane on Wall Street at 12:27 p.m. but found no issues at the scene.

Bristol fire personnel put out a small brush fire at the Belltower Plaza complex on Metacom Avenue at 1:59 p.m.

Police caught up with the driver of a vehicle that was reportedly driving too fast and recklessly on Jane Lane around 5:20 p.m. They were advised of the complaint and dispersed.

Police looked for a large group of juveniles who were allegedly using foul language in the area of Wood Street at 6:34 p.m., but didn’t locate them.

Police escorted a man who was walking across the Mt. Hope Bridge off the bridge at 7:22 p.m.

Thursday, March 23
A deer was reportedly euthanized by an officer on Metacom Avenue at 5:35 a.m. DEM was advised.

Friday, March 24
A stir occurred on the Mt. Hope Bridge at 1:18 a.m. involving a possible man on the railing. The Bridge Authority checked footage of the time in question and concluded it was possibly just “horseplay” or “individuals taking pictures.” No one was found on the bridge when police checked.

A faulty washer caused a Hope Street residence to smell of smoke at 11:21 a.m.

Damage to a property on Platt Street was reported at 12:36 p.m.

A domestic incident on Wood Street necessitated the call of a rescue at 11:36 p.m.

Saturday, March 25
Police received a report that a stop sign had been left on a property on Low Lane at 10:19 a.m. DPW was notified.

Heather Anne Hovanec, 33, of Tiverton, was arrested after turning herself in on a warrant at 3:27 p.m. She was charged with three counts of domestic violence (simple assault and/or battery, vandalism, and disorderly conduct, all first offenses). She was arraigned and released.

Police intervened on a dispute involving a parking space on Hope Street at 5:03 p.m.

Police dispersed a house party involving Roger Williams students on River Street at 11:11 p.m.

Sunday, March 26
Police looked for a group of people under the bridge on Lower Ferry Road at 12:06 a.m. but didn’t locate anyone.

Police advised a group of loud talkers on Mt. Hope Avenue at 3:35 a.m.
Police intervened on another group of loud people playing music on Shaws Lane at 4:15 a.m. They agreed to turn it down.

An injured rabbit was reported on Hope Street at 7:25 a.m. It was taken to the Bristol Animal Shelter.

Police spoke with juveniles who were reportedly throwing rocks in the back of a complex on Wood Street at 2:01 p.m.

Monday, March 27
Scott Coleman, 25, of Bristol, was arrested following a fight that occurred at Burnside and High Streets at 12:25 a.m. He was charged with disorderly conduct.
