Donna Jean (Silva) Trombley, 72, of Warren, R.I. passed away, Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, RI.
She was the wife of George H. Trombley Jr.

Born in Warren, R.I., she was the daughter of the late Fernando and Alice (Almeida) Silva.

Donna was an avid animal lover. She also loved to cook, always looking for new things to make. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Besides her husband, she is survived by, two daughters, Dyann DeMello and her husband Paul of East Providence, R.I.. and Andrea Bisbano and her companion Joshua of Warren, R.I.; a stepson, Michael Trombley and his companion Melanie of Providence, R.I.; a sister, Sandra Banks and her husband Wesley of Weatherford, Texas; five grandchildren, Joseph, Jessica, Devin, Kaitlyn, and Amara; one great-granddaughter, Tessa; and one soon to be great-granddaughter Kylie Rose. She was also the sister of the late James “Jamie” Porter.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd., Warren.

Funeral services and burial will be private.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
