The Mt. Hope girls lacrosse team fell to LaSalle, 17-5, during a home game on Friday afternoon. The loss dropped the team’s record to 2-6, in Division I, with three games left to play. Senior captain, Kat Barker, led the team in the loss, scoring two second half goals and an assist. Senior captain, Annie Krzywicki, Shivani Metha, and Arden Wilkes also scored in the second half, as the team battled back from a, 16-0, first half deficit.
“This group never gives up and continues to fight every game until the whistle blows,” said Huskies head coach Kerri Giarrusso. “The second half was awesome. They played with such heart. Any other team would have given up, down 16-0. Not this team. They came out and won the second half, 5-1. Love it.”
The team will honor their seniors, Barker, Krzywicki, Gillian Greenslade, Kyra Boucher and Emma Hoyle on their new field along Naomi Street, before their game against Lincoln School on Tuesday afternoon.
