Wing foils take to Bristol Harbor

Posted

Conditions were blustery with winds out of the northwest during last Saturday’s inaugural Wing Foil Racing Series, hosted by the Bristol Yacht Club.. Racing will continue Saturdays, May 17 and 31 and June 14, 21, and 28. Between 15 tio 25 knots of wind are required to race Wing Foiling craft, so all racing is weather pending.

Newport’s regatta organizer Micheal Zonnenberg describes Wing Foiling as fast and fun and a fraction of the cost of owning a traditional boat. “These craft are easy to transport by car and have gone as fast as 41 knots,” he said.
