Fairy gardens come alive

Get out an old planter, some paper, and a pencil — it’s the perfect time to design a fairy garden! The best part is that this activity can be almost completely free, aside from the expense of the plants and soil.

Materials

Paper and pencil

Planter (the bigger, the better)

Plants

Soil

Rocks, stones, pebbles (optional)

Moss (optional)

Twigs (optional)

Additional items based on the chosen theme

4. Assemble the garden

Add soil to the planter and start placing plants and decorations based on the sketch. Let creativity be the guide!

5. Find the perfect spot

Choose a location for the fairy garden — preferably somewhere it can be seen and enjoyed! A porch, windowsill, garden bed, or shady corner all make great options, depending on the plants that have been chosen.

That’s it! The only thing left to do is wait for the fairies to come …
