Get ready for a hot one. The 37th annual Warren Quahog, Seafood and Arts Festival is on Saturday and Sunday, July 20 and 21, at Burr’s Hill Park, Water Street. It's predicted to be the hottest weekend of the summer so far, with temperatures climbing into the mid-90s.

There will be food, lots of seafood and other foods, entertainment, raffles, crafters and fine arts. The art festival sponsored by the Jay Barry Cultural Arts Center features fine art drawing, paintings, lithography, sculpture, pastels and photography.

The musical lineup for Saturday includes classic rock by Big Me from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., country music by Country Mile from 2 to 4:30 p.m. and ‘80s rock/dance music by Dirty Five from 5 p.m. on.
At press time, we didn’t have the lineup for Sunday.

The festival is a fund-raiser for the Warren Barrington Rotary Club, which supports many organizations, provides scholarships to area schools, funds Chris Herren drug awareness programs at the schools, and makes donations to dozens of local programs.

The Rotary Club membership and many volunteers have presented this festival for the past 36 years. Volunteers are always needed to help set up, cook, serve and take down the event when completed. Volunteers are asked to sign up and designate a nonprofit organization for the festival committee to make a donation to after the festival.
They can use your help, whether it’s for two or 10 hours.

Volunteers are sought for Friday from 2 p.m. to dusk, Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. to noon. If you can contribute, sign in at the volunteer book, designate a non-profit organization for whom you are volunteering and, when you leave, sign out.
Hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Admission and parking are free. No pets are allowed.
