Jane Ann Katzen Monteiro, 72 years old, of Jupiter, Fla., passed peacefully at home Sept.1, 2021.

A twenty-year resident and graduate of Bristol High School, she is survived by her husband of 51 years, Mario Monteiro, formerly of Bristol, and two daughters, Lisa Monteiro Parlin and Lori Zelda Monteiro. She was the sister of Jon Katzen of East Providence, R.I., Judd Katzen of Bristol, Jill Katzen Massa and a half-brother, Danny Jacobs of Hudson Fla.

Jane was office manager for Blazer Construction of Jupiter before retiring and was a 17-year employee of Bank of America, Chasewood Plaza, in Jupiter, Fla. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Amanda and Brady Parlin, and the many friends and all the lives she touched. She was of kind heart and gentle nature, a loving wife and mother who made friends with everyone she met.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
