To the editor:
An open letter to all East Providence Parents, Teachers, Caregivers, and Grandparents, we have tolerated the school mask policy for too long. It is time that it comes to an end. Most, if not all of your teachers, aides, staff, and janitorial people have been vaccinated.
In greater part a lot of your students have been vaccinated. There has been no direct connection between the virus and harm to children. If your adults are vaccinated then there should be no reason for the children of our community to be held hostage to your fears any longer. We challenge your motives and your “science.”
We are simply going to send all children back to school in the fall, unmasked. Stop holding our children as human shields against your own fears. Unvaccinated or vaccinated should not make a difference if all of your staff have been given the vaccines. Enough is enough. We will organize. We will march. We will protest. This is a wake up call to do the right thing. Open the schools.
