Patriots sweep Davies in quarterfinals
PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth High School boys’ volleyball team made easy work of Davies Career Tech in the quarterfinals of the Division III state championships.
The Patriots won all three games during the match played in the PHS field house at on Thursday, May 29, by scores of 25-13, 25-11, and 25-14.
The No. 2-seeded Patriots advance to play the No. 3 seed, Hope High School, in the semifinal round at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6, also at home.
In Thursday’s game, Jack Casey recorded two aces, 12 kills, three blocks, and 19 digs. Jack Loper had an ace, a kill, four digs, and 32 assists. Fabio Muscianisi added two kills, and 11 digs.
For Davies, Anthon Khamtheang had two kills, eight digs; Santiago Giraldo Maron recorded 10 digs and five assists; and Geln Andrade had four blocks and two kills.
