PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth High boys’ varsity basketball team hopes to get back on track when it visits Smithfield on Tuesday, Dec. 21.
The Patriots fell to Mount Pleasant at home Friday night in a Division I game, 57-51.
Benny Hurd was the top scorer for the Patriots, with 20 points.
Also contributing on offense were Henry Rodrick (9 points), Jeff Brady (6), Jack Downing and Luke Brennan (5 apiece), Calvin Lucenti (4), and Neal Tullson (2).
Mount Pleasant’s Jayden DeSimone led all scorers with 24 points.
After playing Smithfield, the Patriots will participate in the East Bay Holiday Tournament at Tiverton High School on Tuesday, Dec. 28
They will play Barrington on the road on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022.
