PORTSMOUTH — High school students ages 16 to 18 from Portsmouth and Little Compton may register for a COVID-19 vaccine, the first dose of which will be administered Friday, May 7.
The two clinics — one for each of two doses of the Pfizer vaccine — will be at the “new gymnasium” at Portsmouth High School, 120 Education Lane.
The first dose will administered from noon to 5 p.m. on Friday, May 7. Students who receive the first dose will need to come back for the second dose three weeks later on Friday, May 28, during the same hours.
Students who attend PHS will be able to schedule appointments from noon to 2 p.m. for each clinic. Registration appointments for students under the age of 18 should be made by the student's parent or guardian. The registration deadline is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5.
You may register online here. The registration link for the second dose will be given out once students have received their first vaccination.
Gov. Dan McKee and the R.I. Department of Health have asked each municipality to host a vaccination clinic for high school students ages 16 to 18. The Town of Portsmouth and the Portsmouth School Department are working together in setting up the clinics.
