Family Arbor Day Tree Trek at Blithewold

Blithewold is hosting a Family Arbor Day Tree Trek with Connie Ganley on Saturday, April 26 (rain date April 27), from 10 a.m. to noon.

Visitors should meet at the Visitors Center

Bring the family and celebrate Arbor Day while exploring Blithewold’s incredible collection of trees. Designed for all ages, we’ll slow down and observe a variety of trees and use our senses to learn how trees grow and why they are so important.

Materials will be provided. Dress for outdoor fun.
Free activities include a tree ID scavenger hunt and leaf rubbing/stamping.

Free for children under 6. Class size is limited to 20.
Preregistration is required.

$10 Member Adult | $5 Member Child (6 – 15)

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
