Letter: Support a new team for Portsmouth Senior Center

Posted

To the editor:

We are excited about the progress of the construction next to the senior center and what that will mean for the Portsmouth community once completed. As new members of the Portsmouth Senior Center, we look forward to learning about new and current programs and activities.

With the many future opportunities for the senior center in mind, we encourage all members of the Portsmouth Senior Center to cast their votes in person this Monday, June 23, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the center.

It’s an important opportunity to support a new leadership team committed to ensuring the center truly meets the needs of our senior community. Please consider voting for Jim Seveney, Rita St. Laurent, John McDaid, Mark Katzman, and Fred Faerber.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
