PORTSMOUTH — Here are some recent arrests made by the Portsmouth Police Department:
Tuesday, Oct. 22
Joel G. Avendano Aguayo, 46, of 91 Seabiscuit Place, Pawtucket, was charged with forgery and counterfeiting of registration plates at about 11:35 a.m. Avendano Aguayo was pulled over in the area of East Main and Pine Tree roads, and officers determined the vehicle’s New Jersey registration plate was fraudulent, police said.
Joseph Ryan Linhares, 30, of 11 Second St., was charged with domestic simple assault and illegal possession of weapons other than firearms. Officers were dispatched to his home around 8 p.m. to investigate a report of a possible larceny, police said. The victim was a 67-year-old woman who lives in Portsmouth, according to police.
Wednesday, Oct. 23
Janssye M. Toucet, Jr., 18, of 106 Peace St., Apt. 2, Providence, was charged with domestic cyberstalking and cyber-harassment in connection with an incident that had taken place on Sept. 1. Toucet was discovered to have harassed a 19-year-old Portsmouth woman via a mobile communication device, police said. Providence Police took him into custody on a Portsmouth warrant at about 7:45 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 26
Starling Javier Castillo Pina, 25, of 60 Fairfield Ave., Apt. 101, Providence, was charged with driving under the influence (DUI), first offense, following a motor vehicle stop on Park Avenue at Riverside Street at about 5:50 p.m. Castillo Pina was also cited for refusal to submit to a chemical test, police said.
Sunday, Oct. 27
Isabella Adriana Merritt, 20, of 687 Wood St., Apt. 2, Bristol, was charged with DUI, first offense, after being pulled over on West Main Road in front of Raytheon Co. around 1:30 a.m. Merritt was also cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test.
