PORTSMOUTH — A 36-year-old man was arrested on drug charges Wednesday, June 9, after he allegedly broke into an apartment at 2701 East Main Road.

Conor D. Carr, of no permanent address, was wanted on a Middletown warrant, and Portsmouth Police responded to that address, where he was known to reside.

When officers arrived, there were indications that one of the ground-floor apartments had been broken into, according to police. The property manager allowed police access and during a sweep of the area, Mr. Carr was found to be living in a rear closet, police said.

He was taken into custody, during which he attempted to resist officers’ commands, police said. After being secured in handcuffs, officers discovered a controlled substance in Mr. Carr’s possession, according to police.
