PORTSMOUTH — The puck dropped on a new season of hockey Sunday at the Portsmouth Abbey rink, which the Patriots left with a 3-2 Injury Fund win over Barrington.
The Patriots and Eagles played a shortened contest — two, 30-minute halves instead of three full periods.
Portsmouth kicks off its regular season on Sunday, Dec. 12, with a match against the Rogers/Middletown/Rocky Hill co-op team at Portsmouth Abbey at 2:30 p.m.
After that, the team hits the road against the PCD/St. Ray’s/Wheeler co-op team at the Lynch Ice Rink at 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 17. The Patriots return to the Abbey for a 2:30 p.m. game against Cranston/Scituate on Sunday, Dec. 19.
