Another walk-off win for Barrington Little League 11U All Stars

Barrington rallies for 7-6 win over Bristol-Warren

Barrington Little League’s 11U Majors Baseball All Star team secured a second straight walk-off win on Sunday night. Barrington, which trailed Bristol-Warren 5-1 in the third inning, was down 6-5 heading into the bottom of the sixth inning.

Peter Berard led off the bottom half of the sixth with an opposite field triple down the right field line and scored to tie the game one pitch later on a hard ground ball single by Rocco Coppolino. Coppolino then advanced to second base when Matt Montecalvo earned a four-pitch walk, bringing Zak Oppler to the plate.

Oppler, the walk-off hero of Barrington’s game on Monday night, drove a single to right field and Coppolino beat the throw home by several feet, ending the game and sending the Barrington All Stars into celebration mode.

Montecalvo started the game on the hill for Barrington. Max Colantonio and Oppler pitched in relief.

Lucas Kim and Angelo Bruneau both scored for Barrington and Coppolino led the team with three RBI.

Barrington will play again on July 7.
