Astronomy Day is this Saturday in Barrington

This family-friendly stargazing event is co-hosted by Barrington’s Recreation Department and the Astronomical Society of New England. From 1 to 4:30 p.m., specially filtered telescopes will permit safe viewing of sun spots, the surface of the sun and solar flares shooting tens of thousands of miles from the sun’s surface. The evening program, from 6 to 9 p.m., features a dozen or more telescopes. View our moon, Venus, Saturn with its rings, Venus, and perhaps a galaxy or an exploding star.

WHEN: Saturday, Oct. 12, from 1 to 9 p.m.
WHERE: Barrington Town Hall lawn, 283 County Road
COST: Free and open to the public
