Audubon continues to hold an array of April Vacation Nature Discovery programs for children. This week at the Audubon Nature Center and Aquarium in Bristol, there are programs daily from 1 to 2 p.m.

Audubon still hosting Vacation Week programs

Audubon continues to hold an array of April Vacation Nature Discovery programs for children. This week at the Audubon Nature Center and Aquarium in Bristol, there are programs daily from 1 to 2 p.m.

The admission fee is $10/member child, $14/non-member child, ages 7 and up.

Thursday April 17 - Ponding

Venture to the pond to investigate the water’s hidden wonders. Students will search for creatures, learn about their environments, and understand the important role ponds play in nature.

Friday April 18 - Reptiles

Join an Audubon naturalist and embark on a nature hike to explore local reptile habitats. Discover how reptiles survive and thrive in the wild and follow with an up-close look at a live snake and turtle, learning about their unique features, behaviors, and differences between different types of reptiles.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
