Barrington boys dominate Class B Championship meet

Eagles outscore second place Classical, 259-75

The Barrington High School boys indoor track team won every single event at the Class B Championship in Providence on Saturday, Feb. 1.

The Eagles scored 259 team points and cruised to the championship title. Second-place Classical finished with 75 points. 

Bobby Wind and Patrick Trainer each won two individual events and also ran a leg of the first-place 4x200-meter relay. Wind also ran a leg of the first-place 4x400-meter relay. 

Wind won the 55-meter hurdles and the 300-meter race, while Trainor won the 55-meter dash and the long jump. 

Myles Napolitano won the 3,000-meter race and the 1,500-meter race. 

Henry Stockwell won the 600-meter race and also ran a leg of the 4x400-meter relay and a leg of the first place 4x800-meter relay. 

Joe Adams won the shot put and the weight throw. Daniellas Chun won the 1,000-meter race and also ran a leg of the 4x800-meter relay.

“Wow! I do not think that there has ever been a Class Champion team that has swept firsts in every single event,” wrote Barrington High School Boys Indoor Track Coach Bill Barrass. “A very, very impressive showing today. Although it is not going to be easy, you have shown that this team still has a shot at the state title.” 

Following is a list of all the Barrington competitors who placed at the Class B Championship:

• 4x800-meter relay: 1. Barrington (Fritz Muehlbauer, Daniel Chun, Marius Bonard and Stockwell)

• 4x200-meter relay: 1. Barrington (Wind, Danny Serna, Charly Potter, and Trainor)

• 4x400-meter relay: 1. Barrington (Grady Hazlett, Wind, Marius Bonard and Stockwell)

• 55-meter hurdles: 1. Wind, 2. Jared Lesk, 3. Hazlett

• 55-meters: 1. Trainor, 2. Potter, 4. Serna 

• 300-meters: 1. Wind, 3. Hazlett, 7. Truva Akarra, 8. Lesk

• 600-meters: 1. Stockwell, 5. Bonard, 8. Nick Valdez

• 1,000-meters: 1. Daniel Chun, 2. Muehlbauer, 3. Brady Andrew, 5. Vlad Horvatic

• 1,500-meters: 1. Myles Napolitano, 3. Michael Chun, 4. Brooks Mello, 5. Andrew

• 3,000-meters: 1. Myles Napolitano, 3. Colby Napolitano, 5. Sam Spencer

• Shot put: 1. Adams

• Weight throw: 1. Adams, 5. Aidan Chopin

• High jump: 1. Satisfield, 2. Shea Parish, 5. Ethan Couturier

• Long jump: 1. Trainor, 2. Aiden Memoli, 3. Satisfield, 4. Potter, 7. Jake Tomlinson
