Barrington High School football standouts David Kelley and Lucas Dillon will be among this year's honorees at a special Providence Gridiron Club event next week.
The two local student-athletes were selected as the defensive and offensive MVPs — Kelley was the defensive MVP while Dillon was the offensive MVP — for the Barrington team this year by the club. They have been invited to a banquet at the Quonset O Club in North Kingstown on Wednesday, Dec. 14.
Football players from 38 of the 42 football-playing schools in the Rhode Island Interscholastic League will be honored. Kelley and Dillon helped Barrington to a 3-4 Division I record this season and also helped the Eagles earn a spot in the playoffs.
