When you've finished trick-or-treating tonight you may want to head over to Barrington High School's Victory Field for a showdown of Division I rivals. Barrington, which has a 3-2 record in Division I, will host 4-2 Portsmouth. Kick-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. Barrington is coming off a 28-12 win over Cranston West last week. Barrington coach Bill McCagney said senior Jake Slye played well at quarterback against Cranston West. Slye scored on a pair of short runs for the Eagles, who held a 14-12 half-time lead. Coach McCagney was also quick to praise senior full-back Jake Gelsomino, who racked up more than 100 yards rushing in the victory. Gelsomino scored on a 41-yard run for the Eagles also. Barrington senior Colin Vatter found the end zone on a 15 yard run, and senior Jacob Bonney kicked all four extra points.
Portsmouth lost its second Division I game last Friday, 30-21 against LaSalle. Portsmouth had a 12-point lead on the Rams in the second quarter, but La Salle ruined Senior Night for Portsmouth when it stormed back for the victory.
