The Barrington High School boys track team improved to 7-0 after sweeping East Providence (117-35), Rogers (135-19) and PCD (154-0) in a home dual meet on Monday, April 28. 

The Eagles celebrated a number of first place finishes. Bobby Wind raced to victory in the 110-meter hurdles, and also won the 300-meter hurdles. 

Daniel Chun won the 1,500-meter race, Henry Stockwell won the 800-meter race, and Colby Napolitano powered to victory in the 3,000-meters. 

The Eagles won the 4x100-meter race; the team includes Patrick Trainor, Caleb Satisfield, Charly Potter, and Wind. 

In the field events, Joe Adams won the hammer throw and the discus. Trainor won the long jump with his top distance so far this season — 21 feet, five inches. Aden Memoli won the triple jump, and Caleb Appleyard won the pole vault. 

Potter was victorious in the javelin, and Satisfield won the high jump.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
