The Barrington High School football team lost to Burrillville 14-6 at home on Friday night, Sept. 20.
The Eagles dropped to 0-2 while Burrillville improved to 2-0.
Barrington opened an early lead against the Broncos. With about two minutes to play in the first quarter, Eagles slot-back Kellan Johnson took a hand-off on a counter play, darted through a gap in the Broncos’ defense and sprinted 38 yards for a touchdown. Barrington missed the extra point, and by halftime the Eagles trailed 7-6. Burrillville made it 14-6 with a touchdown pass in the second half.
The Eagles play two more home games in the next two weeks. On Friday, Sept. 27 Barrington will host Central High School. And on Friday, Oct. 4, the Eagles welcome Portsmouth to Victory Field. Both games are scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.
