Barrington High School senior Bobby Wind broke the state record in the 55-meter hurdles while competing the New England Championships last weekend.

Wind’s time of 7.37 seconds eclipsed the mark of 7.41 seconds set in 2004 by Hope High School's Yudehweh "Peter" Gbaa.

Wind finished second overall in the event at the New England Championships. He was one of the BHS athletes who displayed an impressive performance at the regional meet.

The Eagles’ 4x800-meter relay team finished sixth at regionals. The team of Fritz Muehlbauer, Marius Bonard, Daniel Chun, and Michael Chun, who broke the previous school record from last season by 10 seconds, broke their own record with a time of 7:58.67.

The 4x200 team of Wind, Charlie Brito, Charly Potter, and Patrick Trainor were hundredths of a second off the school record.

Caleb Satisfield finished eighth in the high jump, clearing the bar at six feet, five inches.
