The Barrington High School wrestling team continues to battle despite missing a few key grapplers this season. 

The Eagles recently finished its out-of-state tournament season with three third-place finishes. Last weekend, Barrington powered to a third-place finish at the Norwich Free Academy Dual meet tournament.

The Eagles’ James Rocco remains undefeated this season. He has only had one match not end in a technical fall or pin. Rocco has also defeated four returning placers from Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. 

The dual meet season has posed some challenges to Barrington, which has been without a few returning wrestlers — the Eagles have lost four dual meets by less than 12 points. 

Despite the set-backs, Barrington continues to work hard, said Eagles coaches. 

Following is a summary of the Eagles’ wrestlers and their season records:

• 106 - Hayden Genetti - Freshman: 19-6, 1st at Scituate Invite, 4th at Waterford Lancer Invite, 2nd at the Griswold Invite

• 113 - Logan Medeiros - Sophomore: 21-6, 1st at Scituate Invite, 1st at Waterford Lancer Invite, 4th at the Griswold Invite

• 120 - Brayden Hughes - Sophomore: 10-6, 4th at Waterford Lancer Invite, 6th at Griswold Invite

• 126 - Aiden Mantooth - Junior: 18-11, 4th at Scituate Invite, 6th at Waterford Lancer Invite, 4th at Griswold Invite

• 132 - Gavin Munzert - Freshman: 13-11

• 138 - Owen DiOrio - Freshman: 16-12, 3rd Waterford Lancer Invite, 4th Griswold Invite

• 144 - Caleb Appleyard - Sophomore: 23-6, 1st at Scituate Invite, 3rd at Waterford Lancer Invite, 2nd at Griswold Invite

• 150 - James Rocco - Junior: 28-0, 1st at Scituate Invite, 1st at Waterford Lancer Invite, 1st at Griswold Invite

• 157 - Kaleo Pan - Junior: 7-13, 6th at Scituate

• 165 - Connor Foley-Senior: 24-8, 5th at Scituate Invite, 4th at Waterford Lancer Invite, 3rd at Griswold Invite

• 285 - Gunner Haas  - Freshman: 8 - 10

Note: Jackson Cortese has stepped into the lineup multiple times at 165 pounds and 190 to win matches and help the team win dual meets.
