Students at Barrington Christian Academy delivered nearly 75 Thanksgiving meals to people in need late last month. 

For the last decade, BCA has been volunteering with My Brother’s Keeper, which provides assistance to people in need in the New Bedford and Fall River communities. This year, the local students spent three days delivering meals to people. 

“Serving is a common theme that is instilled in the kids here on a daily basis,” said Barrington Christian Academy Head of School Michael Skazinski. “They are taught not only to be selfless and give back to the community but to always consider others in all that they do. Those lessons are present on a regular basis within BCA and applied to everyday student life.”

Most years, BCA’s high school students are involved in the community service, but this year the effort expanded to include eighth-graders also. 

“One of BCA’s core values is ‘actively engaged in service.’ So we are always looking for ways all of our students, from kindergarten to seniors to serve our greater community,” Skazinski said. “We have been working with My Brother’s Keeper for 10 years, so we have been able see the long term benefits of serving. We have made some amazing connections!”
