The Barrington High School girls soccer team fell to 5-7-4 after losing to East Greenwich, 2-1, on Monday, Oct. 21.
The Avengers took the lead eight minutes into the game when they netted a long-range shot. Two minutes later, Barrington was awarded a penalty kick, but failed to score.
But the Eagles did manage to tie the game at the 15-minute mark, when Lena Pilipski sent a pass to her teammate, Liv Morrissette, who directed the ball into the EG net.
The game remained tied until the Avengers scored with about 10 minutes to play in the first half.
Barrington Coach Martyn Hollands said his team had numerous chances to score in the second half, but was unable to capitalize.
