Barrington track athletes qualify for nationals
Ethan Knight, Eli Terrell, Ryan Martin and Bobby Wind race to first place finish
Barrington’s shuttle hurdle team brought home a first place medal from the East Coast Invitational, which is the second-largest single-day track meet in the New England region this season.
Competing against teams from Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New York, Connecticut and New Hampshire, Barrington had a very successful meet. The shuttle hurdle team of Ethan Knight, Eli Terrell, Ryan Martin and Bobby Wind finished first. The strong performance qualified the Barrington team for the high school nationals.
Ethan Knight also won the hurdles, and Wind finished fifth in the event.
The team of Nate Greenberg, Knight, Gabe Tanous and Iain DeBoth finished third in the 4x200-meter relay event. Brandon Piedade, Knight, Tanous and DeBoth teamed up to finish third in the 4x400-meter relay.
DeBoth finished third in the 200-meter race, and Brett White was fourth in the weight throw. Finn Myatt raced to a sixth-place finish in the two-mile race, and Joe Adams was fourth in the emerging weight throw.
