Beer Festival returns to Fort Adams

The Newport Beer Festival returns to Fort Adams State Park this Saturday, April 19, from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Nearly 50 breweries will be offering more than 100 beer selections on Parade Field at the park.

Brewery participants will be hailing from each New England brewers guild:

  • Rhode Island Brewers Guild
  • CT Brewers Guild
  • Maine Brewers' Guild
  • Mass Brewers Guild
  • New Hampshire Brewers Association
  • Vermont Brewers Association

Additional details:

  • \ • $40 ticket includes two 12 two oz. drink tickets (additional drink tickets will be available for purchase the day of)
  • Audience: 21+ with valid ID, no babies, no pets
  • Event held rain, sea fog or shine
  • All sales final - no refunds
  • Proceeds benefit the Rhode Island Brewers Guild

In the spirit of Earth Week, bring your plastic can carriers for proper recycling and reuse. Each can carrier deposited in the RIBG receptacle will be good for one (1) entry into the winner-take-all raffle — featuring $1,000+ in brewery, sponsor and exhibitor prizes.

Food will be available for purchase from several food vendors. Live music will complement the beer tastings.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
