Barrington loses to Moses Brown, 4-1, in regular season finale

The Barrington High School field hockey team wrapped up the regular season with a 4-1 loss to Moses Brown on Wednesday night, Oct. 23.

The Eagles finished with a 6-7 record in Division 1 standings and will open the playoffs with a quarterfinal game against North Kingstown on Friday night, Oct. 25 at 5:30 p.m.

The Eagles are the number 4 seed and the Skippers are number 5, but the match will be played at LaSalle Academy because Barrington High School does not have a synthetic turf field hockey field.

“We have to give up home field advantage yet again because of no turf and no lights,” wrote Barrington High School Coach Anne Gasbarro.

The winner of the Barrington vs. NK game will square off against top-seeded Moses Brown, which finished the regular season undefeated at 13-0.

In its final regular season game, Barrington lost to the Quakers 4-1. Shelby Gasbarro scored the Eagles’ goal off an assist from Ava Anderson. Meanwhile, Emily Horn, Roxanna Mohammadi and Holly Moscrop led the Eagles’ defensive effort. Katie McAdams made 12 saves in net for Barrington.

The Quakers only allowed four goals all season en route to their perfect record. Barrington scored two of the four goals.
