The Barrington High School girls cross country team had four runners finish in the top-20 at the Class B Championship race on Saturday at Ponaganset High School.

Senior runner Meghan Zitzmann was the top finisher for the Eagles, cross the line in 13th place with a time of 21:15.18. Classmate Lindsay Turgeon finished two spots back in 15th with a time of 21:26.79, while sophomores Riley Curran and Olivia Johnson finished in the 19th and 20th places, respectively. Riley clocked a time of 21:50.66, while Olivia finished at 21:53.19.

Virginia Sanderson, a sophomore, ran to a 26th place finish with a time of 22:34.15, and Maria Gunness, a senior, finished 27th with a time of 22:49.38.

The Barrington High School boys soccer team tied Central Falls 2-2 on Monday, Nov. 2. The Eagles opened a 2-0 lead in the first half, as Ned Shapiro and Andrew Blazewicz each scored goals. Nick Rockwell and Nico Arce assisted on the scores. But the Warriors stormed back to tie the game with two second half scores.

Sean Imbush and Jason Troiano shared goalkeeping duties, talling 13 shots from Central Falls.

On Wednesday, Nov. 4, Barrington shut out Cranston East, 4-0. Blazewicz, Cam Chalue-Feeney and Shapiro each scored goals, and East also had an own-goal. Arce had an assist, and Imbush and Troiano finished with five saves.

Girls soccer

Barrington lost 3-0 to Cumberland on Nov. 3, but bounced back with a 3-3 tie against the Clippers on Saturday, Nov. 7, and a 3-2 win over Bay View on Sunday.

Against Bay View, Barrington's Ashley Edwards scored two goals and Sarah Yee added a goal. Dani Ceseretti assisted on one of the scores, while Alaina Wood made seven saves in net.

In the 3-3 tie against Cumberland, Yee had two goals and Tess Gagliano had one, while Sophia Richardson and Ella Abadi each notched assists. Wood made six saves and Helena DeFanti finished with three saves.

Field hockey

The Eagles defeated Lincoln School 2-0 in a game under the lights at Victory Field on Monday, Nov. 9.

Violet Gagliano and Peyton Whittet each scored goals, while Mila Diaz and Zoey Despines finished with assists.
