For two periods, the Bishop Hendricken hockey team dominated play against Barrington in a league game Saturday night, Feb. 6. The Hawks held a 2-0 lead and had out-shot the Eagles 28-12.
But late in the third period, Barrington came alive. The Eagles’ Sam Faulkner scored an unassisted goal to cut the Hawks’ lead to 2-1. A short while later, Barrington knotted the score at 2-2 when Callum Flaherty scored off an assist from Owen Crain.
The score remained tied through the end of regulation, thanks in part to some stellar defense by Crain, Josh Leblanc, Will Ide, Christian Vieira and Brody Carroll, and standout goaltending by freshman Cam Siwik.
In the overtime period, Barrington’s Brennan Gazeryan pushed the puck past the Hendricken goalie off an assist by Faulkner. The goal lifted the Eagles to the 3-2 overtime victory against the powerhouse Hendricken team. The win also pushed Barrington’s record to 3-1-1, following a 3-2 win over Smithfield on Friday night.
Siwik made 42 saves against Hendricken.

It was Senior Night for the Sentinels, and they came out strong with a quick goal in the first minute of the game. Barrington responded late in the first period, as Faulkner scored an unassisted goal. Faulkner added a second unassisted goal in the second period, and Gazeryan added a third goal assisted by Crain and Jackson Gorman. Siwik had another strong performance in net, with 20 saves.
Barrington plays two more games this week — the Eagles play against Burrillville on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., and against Cumberland on Saturday at 6 p.m.
