Barrington Democrats Steven Boyajian and Kate Weymouth held comfortable leads in the race for the Barrington Town Council, while officials continue to wait for voting results from one polling location in town.

Mr. Boyajian had received 3,171 votes after ballots were tallied in four out of the five polling locations in Barrington. Ms. Weymouth, an incumbent, had received 3,047 votes.

The race for the third and final open seat was much closer. Republican Peter Dennehy received 2,751 votes while Independent incumbent Ann Strong had received 2,716.

Democrat Melissa Horne was resting in fifth place with 2,675 votes and Republican Geoff Grove was sixth with 2,478 votes.

As of 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, voting results from Sowams School were still not available. An error with a voting machine on Tuesday night created the delay. Officials at the Barrington Town Clerk's office said they were hopeful the results would be posted online by late morning.
