Bristol Merchants Holiday preview this Friday

Posted

The Bristol Merchants Association (BMA) will be holding their 26th annual Holiday Preview this Friday Night, Nov. 19, from 5 to 9 p.m.

The fun night officially kicks off the holiday shopping season here in Bristol, serving as an important and timely reminder to shop local, as merchants open the doors of festively-decorated shops, many offering holiday music and treats to get shoppers in the holiday spirit.

“This year we are really excited for both the Holiday Preview and Snowflake raffle,” said Joe Caron of the BMA. “We have some new businesses participating and we are looking forward to more people coming out, after a slow year last year.”

Once again, the popular Snowflake Raffle will be held as a further incentive to spend holiday dollars at local merchants: for each $25 spent at participating stores and restaurants between Nov. 19 and noon on Dec. 19, you receive a raffle ticket — and double tickets will be offered Holiday Preview Weekend, Nov. 19-21 as well as the weekend of Dec 11-12. The drawing will he held on Dec. 19 at 5 p.m. on lower State Street, with the able assistance of Jack Frost and Santa Claus. You do not need to be present to win, and all tickets (with your name and number of the back, please) that have been turned in at Caron’s Jewelers by noon on Dec. 19 will be entered in the raffle.

As in years past, luminaries will mark businesses open for the Preview. Though this list may be incomplete as there is still time for businesses to register to participate, at press time participating businesses include Caron’s Jewelers, Grasmere, Hair, Heart & Soul, Hotpoint Emporium, Jackie’s Loft, NV Hair Studio, BABS + Tish, Jules Ice Cream, Kate & Co., Wink, Therapy, and Dirty Blonde Salon. Spa Yadira, formerly of High Street, will be holding a pop-up event at Studio Six, St. Michael’s Church will be having a pop-up sale, and Linden Place will be holding their second annual Winter Artisan Market, featuring dozens of artisans and unique offerings, from jewelry, weaving, clothing, pottery, and more.
