Bristol Police: stolen clothes, peering in windows

Monday, Dec. 30

A woman on St. Elizabeth St. reported that her boyfriend assaulted her at 10:42 p.m. Rescue was requested on site and both parties were separated for the night.

A caller on St. Elizabeth St. reported that a man tried to break down a door at 11:29 p.m.

Tuesday, Dec. 31

A report of a larceny of clothing from a Roma St. basement was made at 11:17 a.m.

Wednesday, Jan. 1

A complaint was made regarding a man causing a scene inside a Metacom Ave. business at 2:32 a.m. The man, who had a beard and was wearing a hood, jeans, and a backpack, was asked to leave and rescue was requested.

A caller reported a man wearing a black jacket looking into the caller's Wales Dr. residence on camera at 1:06 p.m. Officers secured the area and spoke to the homeowner.

Thursday, Jan. 2

A caller made a forgery complaint on Hope St. at 2:35 p.m.

A noise complaint was made on Massasoit Ave. at 6:39 p.m. after loud music was reported to be playing since 3 p.m. The music was turned off prior to the officer's arrival.

Friday, Jan. 3

A caller on State St. reported a man throwing rocks at their residence at 10:58 p.m. No damage was seen on the property.

Saturday, Jan. 4

A caller stated that their juvenile son left their residence on Waterman St. with a friend and shut off his location at 1:07 a.m.

Sunday, Jan. 5

At 7:07 a.m., A caller reported that six people attempted to break into multiple cars on Hopeworth Ave. overnight.

A cash scam was reported on Hamlet Drive at 5:58 p.m.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far.
