Claire J. Azzarone, 90, Bristol

Claire J. (Choiniere) Azzarone, 90, of Bristol passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Monday, January 3, 2021. She was the wife of the late John Azzarone for many years before his passing in 1980.

Born in Central Falls, RI, she was the daughter of the late Armand and Jeanne (Valois) Choiniere.

Claire was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. She worked at Roger Williams University and Jamiel's Shoe World until retiring. She volunteered for the Meals on Wheels program and was an avid bowler. In her free time she loved to play scrabble and complete crossword puzzles.

Claire leaves behind her children: Jane Azzarone (Reuben Alford), Peter Azzarone (Lori Campbell), Paul Azzarone (June), Lynn Graham; her grandchildren: Sara White (Christopher), Bethany Cook, Nicole Azzarone (Nicholas Mangini), Katie Azzarone (Kurt Tupper), Jennifer Azzarone (Eddy Ramos), John Azzarone (Kim) and Taylor St. Onge; her six great grandchildren; and siblings: Roger Choiniere, Madeleine Wojcik, and Armand Choiniere.

She was preceded in death by her son John (Mousie) Azzarone, son in-law Jeffrey Graham, and her siblings Lionel Choiniere and Yvette Perron.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM on Monday, January 17, 2022 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
