Deborah DeCosta, 66, Bristol

Deborah DeCosta, 66, of Wood Street, Bristol, R.I. passed away on Monday, Feb. 7, 2022, after a long illness. A daughter of Manuel and the late Mary (Goulart) Morris and the loving wife of Joseph DeCosta, she was a lifelong resident of Bristol, R.I.

Deborah graduated from Bristol Colt High School and then went on to work for Raytheon for many years. She lived a simple life, and enjoyed her hobbies. She loved to do all manner of crafts like sewing, gourmet cooking and crocheting. She would always make blankets and the like for infants in the maternity ward. Deborah also loved to sing at her church. Her solo was High Beautiful Voice Sing Unto Lord. She loved to be at the beach and by the water with her husband, Joseph.

In addition to her father, Manuel, and her beloved husband, Joseph, Deborah is survived by her three sisters, Sharon Madeiro of Boston, Mass., Doreen Walker and her fiancé Doug of Maine and Rebecca Elderkin and her husband Gary of Middletown, R.I., as well as many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

The Pall Bearers were Roy DeCosta, Robert DeCosta, James DeCosta, John DeCosta, Daniel DeCosta and Bob Costa.

Services were with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, R.I., where the family received relatives and guests on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022 from 4 to 7 p.m. The funeral service was held Feb. 16, 2022 in Radiant Christian Assembly of God Church, 895 Main St. Warren, RI.
