Defense shines as Barrington boys defeat Fordham Prep, 8-7

The Barrington High School boys lacrosse team defeated Fordham Prep 8-7 on Thursday, April 24. 

Luca Rigamonti shined in the strong defensive effort for the Eagles. The Barrington goalie made 17 saves, including nine in the first quarter. Senior Ryan Owens and sophomores Dylan Ignall and Max Parylak also played key roles for the Eagles’ defense. 

Ben Parylak led Barrington’s offense. Parylak scored two goals and assisted on three others. Dylan Edwards and Patrick McNamara each scored twice, while Nick Spaight tallied two assists and one goal. Peyton Hillier also scored for Barrington. 

McNamara took all of Barrington’s face-offs and won 61 percent of them. After falling to Barrington, Fordham Prep played against Moses Brown and beat the Quakers. 

On Tuesday night, April 29, Barrington lost to LaSalle 21-5. The Eagles trailed 6-0 at the end of the first quarter and 13-3 at halftime. Onson Tieu scored three goals for the Eagles, while Spaight and Hillier also notched goals. Rigamonti made 19 saves.
