Bruzzi then turned back the relentless Gloucester attack over the final few minutes and Almeida slipped in an empty net goal in the waning seconds to secure the 6-3 opening round victory. Bruzzi had 30 saves for the game.

In the tournament finals on Tuesday, Dec. 26, the Eagles traveled back to Gloucester to face the Marblehead Magicians, who dispatched the Beverly Panthers 7-0 in their opening round game.
