The Barrington High School boys cross country team lost to Portsmouth in a dual meet on Monday, Sept. 16.
The Eagles finished with 29 points, while the Patriots had 27. Barrington bounced back for a 15-50 win over Tolman/Shea.
Myles Napolitano and Connor Curran paced the Eagles in Monday’s race — Napolitano finished second overall with a time of 16:48.6, while Curran was third with a time of 17:36.1. Portsmouth placed four runners in the top six spots.
“It had to happen at some point, we lost a home meet,” wrote Barrington High School Coach Mike Katz in an email to the Times. “Portsmouth ran a great race, we did not, they deserved the win.”
For Barrington, Daniel Chun finished seventh with a time of 17:58.3, Colby Napolitano was eighth with a time of 18:10.5, Neal Bansal was ninth with time of 18:15.9, and Fritz Muehlbauer was 10th with a time of 18:18.8.
Other Barrington runners to finish in the top-30 were Marius Bonard (13th), Michael Chun (14th), Vlad Horvatic (15th), Henry Humphreys (16th), Rowan Knight (18th), Henry Schultz (19th), Patrick Coen (21st), Alex Beal (22nd), George Loerke (23rd), Austin McCarty (24th), Wes Jones (26th), Noah Chapman (27th), Finn Sullivan (28th), Andrew Cambria (29th).
